@motogzziclassics: Part 2: After taking the bike for a ride, Mark started making a few phone calls. One of the perks of being in the Moto Guzzi world for over 45 years is that it’s a pretty small community, so it didn’t take long to track down the bike’s history. Once Mark had the full story, he reached out to the seller to have an honest conversation. To the seller’s credit, he was understanding and agreed to give the buyer a full refund. Personally, I think he knew exactly who Mark was and didn’t want his name or reputation dragged through the mud, but either way, he made it right. What I didn’t capture on camera was the seller calling back afterward and asking if the buyer would split the $2,000+ transmission repair bill. The buyer declined, returned the bike, got every dollar back, and walked away with a valuable lesson. In the end, Mark saved him from what could have turned into a very expensive mistake.
