'You're 32, what are you waiting for?' 'All your friends already...' Follow that thread a little further. What did the proposal quiet down — a longing, or a pressure? Be precise. Longing feels like reaching for something. Pressure feels like closing a topic. A lot of men closed a topic in a suit, in front of witnesses, and called it the happiest day. And now the reframe, because this is not about regret. What if the problem was never the marriage at all — what if the choice simply never got made? A choice that wasn't made can't hold weight. That's why some men feel trapped by a wife who did nothing wrong: they're not trapped by her. They're trapped by a decision that was made around them, by a calendar, while they stood still.
