It is a combination of vanity (empty pride) and glory. A vainglorious person doesn't just feel proud inside; they actively seek out admiration and want everyone else to see how great they think they are.

To Ken Holsclew: Absolutely—be proud, President Trump. Be confident. Be bold. Be unapologetic. Use every great adjective you want when describing your accomplishments. In my opinion, after years of attacks against you and your family, relentless insults, investigations, legal battles, searches, nonstop negative coverage, and even assassination attempts, people somehow still expect you to act as though none of it ever happened. Then they criticize you for being boastful, confident, or proud of what you have accomplished. Well, somebody has to talk about those accomplishments, because CNN, its deep-state bed buddies, and much of the mainstream media certainly will not—especially when those accomplishments put America first instead of serving the globalist establishment. So yes, Mr. Trump, hold your head high. You have every right to defend your record and remind people what you accomplished. As for mumbling Joe Biden, I’m not even sure he would know how to begin bragging, remember what he was bragging about, or understand what the word “boastful” means.
