The biggest problem that we have right now is the depth of a safety net. People wouldn’t be losing their damn minds over losing their jobs to AI if we had a robust system of unemployment insurance.

In STEM it's wild because if it's not medicine or Engineering you're in trouble. it's kind of crazy considering what's required to qualify in the first place. As an engineer I'm plenty busy and it's rather stable because you can hire engineers to do non-engineering things too, BUT we are generally unhappy and overworked. The competent ones anyway

I've been seeing a lot of discourse in TT concerning how education equates to career and income. I'm in academic HR and had my own struggles, and it is batshit crazy how 1) rarely people are paid their worth and 2) MOTHERFUCKERS JUST GIVE US UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE.

I’m still insanely impressed that you have been able to do the spicy page with a neurological disorder as a disabled girl with a law degree who had to pivot to OF cause I have severe bipolar that made it impossible to keep a full time job but also made it super difficult to do OF for a living either, super impressive

I don’t have a degree and but when I was looking for jobs I applied to some receptionist jobs and to a 🍃 store. My bf really wanted me to take a receptionist job but… guess which one paid significantly more lol (didn’t get the job at the 🍃 store and I’m a server but it still pays more than a receptionist job)
