@jae.matthiesen: after reading about the meaning behind marc jacobs SS 2027 collection, it felt so aligned with where i'm at right now. weeks prior to his collection being shown, i walked a show for a designer, and right before going out i asked her what my look represented. she told me, "it's inspired by you. it's called the return of the creative spirit." i remembered i had this marc jacobs dress that i'd been saving for a special occasion. it was one of the first actual designer pieces i ever bought myself growing up with little to nothing, i never even allowed myself to look at designer pieces. honestly, i've been saving a lot of clothes waiting for the "right moment," but now that i'm moving to new york, i've just been wearing them and letting them go to start completely fresh. (but i will be bringing my marc jacobs with me. I'm a sentimental girl after all). as my move approaches, i keep thinking about how scared 17-year-old me was, running away from south dakota with nothing but $200 in my pocket and a broken-down toyota camry. i never would've thought this is where i'd be in life. i'm just so grateful to be here today, and for all the love, support, and amazing creative collaborations during my time in chicago. as much as i love this city, i feel like i've gone as far as i can go here. the market just doesn't give girls like me the same kind of space or opportunities to truly grow, and i'm ready to finally soar the blue sky. to keep a long story short thank you chicago, and new york see you soon. dress @marcjacobs film- @msft_films #marcjacobs #editorial #model #film
