Don’t put the chlorine tablets directly in the skimmer basket, put them in a floater when they’re in the skimmer basket. It’s directly on the basket and goes directly into your system, and it rots away faster and makes everything really brittle. You’ll go through lots of baskets and it will start wearing away on your piping and system, even though there’s already chlorine in the water it just makes it really worse when it’s directly in the skimmer, so I highly recommend getting a floater

we used soooo much chemicals with our old filter. the best thing we ever did was switch to a salt water filter. we still buy shock though..bc kids are gross.. lol.. but nothing like before!

Note - I have a salt water pool and we need chemicals too!! 😁💦 I still have to shock from time to time and add in other things to keep it balanced.
