In surf fishing, birds like pelicans often signal baitfish activity, but they can also disrupt your spread when they get too aggressive around the lines. Despite the mess, the last line stayed tight, and ended up with a fish on it. ๐ŸŽฃ If a bird gets hooked or tangled, never just cut the line and leave it. Always take time to safely remove the hook and free the bird properly. In some cases, you can gently cover the birdโ€™s eyes with a rag or towel to help calm it down and reduce stress, but today it wasnโ€™t needed, and we were able to safely remove the hook without issue.
