@coach.pete2: 🎞️ jakked “Most people overestimate what they can do in one year and underestimate what they can do in ten years.”⁣ ⁣ If this quote doesn’t sum up the bodybuilding journey perfectly, nothing else will!⁣ ⁣ At 21, I had already been training for 7 years and competing for 5. (I started lifting seriously at 14.)⁣ ⁣ While I made significant progress in a relatively short time, I was always trying to “maximize” the next 6 months to a year.⁣ ⁣ It took me over a decade to realize that lasting progress wouldn’t come from new training or diet plans each year, but from sticking to tried-and-true methods that I knew would work over the long term.⁣ ⁣ Now, after more than two decades of training, I’m not doing things much differently than I was back then; I’m simply 7,500 days ahead of where I started.⁣ ⁣ If I could go back and give my 14-year-old self the best lifting advice in as few words as possible...⁣ ⁣ I’d tell him to stay committed to proven strategies, ignore distractions from new trends, simplify his approach, focus on what works, and above all, be patient—it’s all about giving it time.⁣
