@sean_hollis: Lust doesn't disappear because you get sober, get in shape, or find God. It's a battle that requires discipline, honesty, and humility. You're not fighting alone.

Something I’ve learned from a friend who went through the same thing is learn to love yourself, do things that bring joy to your life that also bring you closer to your goals and the future you want for yourself and your family. With social media it’ll always be there, but it’s your job to go out of your way to remove it from your life if that’s what you truly want, hit the not interested button, block those accounts, change your content preferences, mute key words. But it’ll only work if you truly want it gone.

You have to do an audit of the things you do on the daily that leave you open to temptations. Filter your feed. Surround yourself with Godly community. Make the conscious effort. Actively flee from temptation. Dont put your self in certain situations. Leave those group chats for a bit. Ultimately God knows your heart. Stay strong my brothers.

Yes men and woman . Married not married .Following Jesus shows you the truth and that’s what makes it hard as it’s conviction. Far better to be struggling that not care 💖

I personally feel like women don’t speak about how we also lust as well we think it’s just men but us women struggle as well.

The Bible specifically commands believers to run away from lust and sexual immorality. Instead of trying to fight these temptations by lingering near them, scripture advises immediate escape.

It’s discipline too and having true fear and love for God you start seeing people differently when you have spiritual eyes

Sean you’re absolutely right! Most Christians think people have to try harder not sin and to be obedient but what they don’t realize is our flesh will always wage war against our spirit. The good news is us children of God who are filled with His Spirit , our identity is in the Spirit and no longer in the flesh. So it’s not us that sins but the flesh that will always be sinful. Jesus washed us in His blood and we are cleansed. He’s already paid for every sin in full. We can’t fight it in our own strength but keep asking Jesus to deliver you from this temptation. Because God wants our constant dependence on Him until we go to Heaven. Bless you ❤️… remember there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus

i noticed that many mormons present that they don't struggle in. perhaps it's a utah issue? and man i love the real ones. mad respect to them, even the ones that are super religious. If they are quality good folk and interesting to hang out with and normal, i can rock with that. my 40 year old autistic selfF full of abuse and religious extremism, gullible and believing in there even though i sense something is off, drove me crazy when i finally cracked the code , started investigating, talking more with bishops, etc. i realized people just have a recommend so people don't think less of them. yet the most sad thing is based on the rules, i can't go to the temple. yet i actually love and know and understand what is happening in there. i think deeply about my time within those walls and since i can't go, i create my own celestial room. and if jesus were here he would let people going they struggle with things like recording drug issues, corn you name it but are really good people, would give the shirt off their back to their neighbor, their friends say they are the sweetest person. yet i didn't ask for the main issues i have. thst was a response to an extremely traumatic childhood paired with autism and other sensory issues like brain injuries and so forth. and honestly i think im gonna lie because i love the temple and i don't take it lightly what happens inside and why one needs to be pure. but i it turned out i we the naive one. it's ok. but i did mess with my testimony. some bishops said mo while others said you need to go. it depends on so many subjective factors, etc. thst is why i am quite disappointed in how they have handled administrative things and spiritual guidelines. don't get me wrong, i completely understand the importance of being spiritually strong and clean to be in the presence of God and that's not something to mess around with

Following Jesus doesn’t mean we will automatically be perfect. We will fail and we will struggle. Christianity does not equal perfection.

Can sombody please explain like lust and temptation? I just got out of an eight year relationship, we met when we were kids stayed together until 23/24 and I’ve now moved onto a new relationship and seeing things that I didn’t see my past relationship. So men can just claim they are in love and that they want to be with you but still “lust” (look? Want?) other women? And like temptations? Like they get temped by other women just walking the streets, in what sense? Like “oh I want to be with him instead” or is temptations more a sexual thought / desire? My past relationship (the only serious relationship I’ve ever been in) none of this was ever a thing, now that I’m back dating I’m hearing these things from my partner & just can’t like wrap my brain around it. Should I not be with sombody who still gets “temptations” and has vocally told me he does?

I like the accountability. I think women need to also recognize we struggle with the same thing we just don’t have as many options. A real attractive guy is hard to come by but it’s also seen as harmless. I remember all the comments left for that guy cutting up wood. And if you look at the numbers women also consume a lot of pornography.
