You should pick up some reflectix :) you can get it on amazon or at places like Home Depot, it’s basically insulated bubble wrap. It keeps the heat out and cool in. And it’s relatively cheap! I use it over windows and drafty spots

Check out Reflectix. It’s attic insulation that is essentially metallic bubble wrap and starts at like $20 for a roll. We put it in windows but I have a duct the attic collapsed into following a storm that my landlord refused to fix and I use that to block the hot air that comes in during the summer. You can cut the stuff w scissors and tape it to that board for structure!

If you want to enhance it a bit they sell heat shielding that is self stick on Amazon too. You can cut it to size.
