As an avid backpacker/camper I’ve always had this as a rule. If I’m in a tent, it’s not a vacation. It’s a trip. An adventure for sure. But a vacation is me on a beach somewhere tropical. Not a tent.

I gave up camping a decade ago. My partner and I had a blow up fight where i yelled ‘we work too hard to suffer on vacation!’ And in a turn of phrase that ended the argument in a laugh but I admit wasnt the most kind words ‘i refuse to cosplay being unhoused!’
