@thisstubbornlife: I used to be a softball player before my accident and have honestly avoided batting cages since because I thought I couldn’t do it. When I agreed to go with my friends, I went under the assumption that I would just feed the balls to them… luckily, they pressured me into giving batting a try, and I had so much fun! I honestly feel like I can do most things (in my own way), but there is something extra satisfying in swallowing your pride and trying something you don’t expect to be able to do 😂 No I wasn’t amazing, but I had fun pushing myself to try something new. #quadlife #wheelchairlife #trysomethingnew #spinalcordinjury

When I first moved to the UK, I couldn't get hired anywhere — no local qualifications, no experience that counted here, despite a Master's in English Literature and years as a TV journalist back home.
