Incorrect because Goku died in the original timeline and that is what caused the future trunks to come back to give Goku the medicine and that is why caused the rest of dragon ball to continue on. So basically Goku dying was the the original timeline. It’s also sad that the original timeline got erased by Zeno of the timeline

if trunks didn't go back in time to give goku the medication and warn them about the androids, that timeline will become the events of the timeline trunks came from. the reason why this is considered the new timeline is because trunks changing the past altered the original events, making a new branching timeline that is separate from his own.

i feel like most people understand that obviously the main/original timeline is the one that we’ve been following along with since og dragon ball, the reason why people call trunks’ timeline the “original” timeline is bc if trunks didn’t time travel back in time to warn goku and the z fighters about the androids, the events that happened in trunks’s timeline would have happened in our main timeline for the most part, hence why people say that trunks’ timeline would be the “original” timeline if events weren’t tampered with through time traveling, but what ur saying is technically correct chanetics

no because trunks coming into the past changed the events that will happen so creating a new timeline because it can't change his future because if it did he won't even go to the past anyway so you can't change the future aka your present and if you change the past you create a new timeline

The problem is that Trunks’ timeline needs to happen first for the main one to exist. With the Time Rings interpretation that would imply Trunks created that timeline by interfering with what is essentially now a copy of his timeline’s past😳
