He had the mansion, the Porsche, the yacht, and one of Hollywood's most powerful executive positions. Then he saw children digging through a garbage dump in Cambodia to survive. His name was Scott Neeson, a former president of 20th Century Fox International. In 2003, during a trip to Cambodia, Neeson visited the Stung Meanchey landfill in Phnom Penh. What he saw changed his life. Children were scavenging through mountains of garbage for food and anything they could sell. But what shocked him most was what they asked for. Not money. Education. They wanted to go to school. Neeson returned to Hollywood, but he couldn't forget them. Eventually, he sold his house, cars and yacht, walked away from his career, and moved to Cambodia. In 2004, he founded the Cambodian Children's Fund, beginning with just 45 children rescued from life around the dump. More than two decades later, the organization has helped thousands of children and families through education, healthcare, housing, vocational training and community support. Neeson could have written a check and gone home. Instead, he gave up the life he had spent decades building—and stayed. Sometimes, finding your purpose means realizing that everything you once wanted isn't what you truly need. He didn't give up his life. He found it.
