No shade to any breastfeeding Mom, but ain't no way I could allow my nipple be a soothing feature. To feed, sure, but never just for a child to soothe themselves like it's object equivalent to a blanket or stuffed animal.

A simple google search will show all these women that babies can and should be breastfed ‘until at least 2 YEARS old. Research shows that the longer you breastfeed, the greater the protective health benefits for both of you. For the baby, it helps protect against infections, allergies, and chronic diseases. For the mother, longer breastfeeding is associated with a reduced risk of certain cancers and other long-term health conditions.

It’s killing me that everyone is talking about how old he is, 19 months old is a year and 7 months. A month over a year and a half. The CDC recommends you breastfeed until at LEAST 12 MONTHS. Non of you are doctors, you just enjoy sexualizing a complete normal biological function. It’s disgusting considering there are so many more important topics that should hold our attention.

Breastfeeding has been recommended to children up to 2 years old yet everyone wants to start with solids and stop with milk by 6-8 months. It's more weird that people choose to remove all the benefits of breast milk so early just because. Yet come on here and judge mothers choosing to keep breastfeeding her 1+ year old child. It sucks to see so many mothers judging other mothers for FEEDING their children. Ew

so I wouldn't do it! but that doesn't mean you shouldn't, I've seen the benefits of breast feeding toddlers. doesn't take a genius to read a few articles and studies. There ARE benefits and the only thing that isn't beneficial besides society's odd view is it gets harder to wean. that being said my only judgement in that if you're trying to wean, why let him latch multiple times especially at night. to me it's no different than bottle feeding and training. they are full, so past a certain time, no more milk no more water, if it's about soothing and comfort. find something else that works. like a blanket or a stuffy that smells like you. no need to kick him out the bed over night. but he should also be learning to respect your boundaries like if you say no or more. that's my only opinion on the matter and Yes change can and will be hard but they do best with consistency.

I don’t understand why everyone is judging for still breastfeeding and co-sleeping. Those two things are completely normal and beneficial for the baby. Not only that there’s absolutely no reason to be judging HER for doing what’s best for HER CHILD!

I’m convinced all the mean comments are from those who feel inferior for not breastfeeding or not breastfeeding till this age. However her breastfeeding does not make you any worse of a mom, it’s okay to make different parenting decisions! Making something the boobs were literally intended for weird is weird in and of itself.
