@courtney.zern: This dog interrupted his own animal communication session because he had something important to share. 🐾 Finn’s mom came into the session with several priority questions to ask him. She wanted to better understand his behaviors, make sure she was supporting his confidence, and help him feel more comfortable in their life together. But as we were wrapping up, Finn made sure I knew that he had more to say… “Excuse me, I have concerns too,” was what I heard from Finn. I paused and tuned back into him because this was his opportunity to have a voice. One of the things Finn wanted to share was that he didn’t love his food. He showed me a green “yuck” emoji, shared the word “salmon,” and told me it gave him fish breath. His mom immediately confirmed that she had just purchased salmon kibble. Finn also had thoughts about his water bowl. He showed me a shiny bowl where he could see his reflection, but it felt distorted to him… almost like a funhouse mirror. He didn’t enjoy seeing himself while drinking and wanted his water to be a little cooler. What stood out to me most wasn’t just the details he shared… It was that Finn wanted to be part of the conversation. Our animals have more than just answers to our questions. They have their own preferences, opinions, and experiences they want to share. Sometimes they just need the space to be heard. 🤍 Have you ever wondered what your pet would want to tell you if they had the chance?

Sometimes the most meaningful parts of a session are the things our animals bring forward on their own. And Finn wanted to make sure he was heard!
