@mispriced.assets: Systemic Risk from Structured Finance in Insurance -- The insurance industry is increasingly intertwined with private credit, structured finance, offshore reinsurance, and complex forms of financial engineering. In this video, I break down how these structures can create hidden leverage and interconnected risks across insurers, asset managers, reinsurers, and private markets — and why a system designed to transfer risk may instead be concentrating it in places that are difficult for investors and regulators to see. We look at the mechanics behind the system, how risk moves between entities, and what could happen when asset values fall, liquidity disappears, or counterparties fail. This is not investment advice. Insurance capital is not going into these directly. I don’t think NW is underwriting these. It’s through AMs

Nice work. part of a larger story of credit repricing, weak demand for ai debt, negative clo arb, gated funds, margin debt at ath, sprinkle some oil rate shock/inflation and we are taking the stairs up and the elevator down. It will be a miracle that one of these problems don’t affect the others and cause panic. This is not 2022 or 2020 when the market can digest one or two issues. If the shit hits the fan today, there will be too many issues for the market to digest
