My suggestion is put wood slabs, but cover it in a waterproof thing and a finish to make it look a little bit darker

Colour theory’! Looks bad now because of all the harsh bright lighting. When you look at the photo inspo you showed us, it was full of warm soft low lighting. You just need to trust your own process
