Hot water and cold water sounds the same! Only difference is if cold water lands on a hot surface! Don't let people confuse you Darlin! This actually makes me mad. People going out of their way to possibly confuse you!😞

Hot water is less dense and often comes through at slightly lower pressure from the hot water cylinder. So it can sound softer, deeper, more "rumbly". Cold water is denser + higher pressure from the mains, so it sounds sharper, higher pitched, more "shhh".

Nope, I just know the water is at the temp I want by where I turn the handles. We shower the same. Nobody "listens" to their water

someone is pulling your leg 😊 its more likely the sound of the water pressure changing. its the difference between one pipe going (cold) and both (cold & hot) going at same time (to give you "hot" water for your shower) 😊
