The Catapult spell is worth testing, as are creative applications of Mold Earth (two-move burial), Shape Water (drown town), Heat Metal (hotwire special), Levitate (Merrie Melodias’ Signature Anvil Strike), Disintegrate (i wasn’t aiming at you), Animate Weapon… so many ways to use magic indirectly.

I prefer the trope of a guy who doesn't realize magic exists and therefore doesn't see it and it doesn't affect him. Then he keeps wondering why all the people he is fighting are doing weird hand symbols at him and surprised when it does nothing.
