Heavy on everything you said! The black salon experience was a lot of little girl’s introduction to seeing black womanhood. My mom took my sister and I to the salon every 2 weeks faithfully! Hearing the gossip, seeing the bootleg man/booster woman, going next door to get food, playing with other little girls getting their hair done too. The experience is missing! 😭😢
