You guys blaming Bernie for 2016 and 2024 isn't going to get us anywhere. In the end we need to listen. We need to listen to people that are really actually suffering that have no safety net that never had a safety net that don't have the college degrees. We literally will look everywhere except ourselves and this is going to be our actual demise. We are just really sucky at listening. In my town, predominantly Mexican American, they overwhelmingly voted for Trump. They didn't vote against their interests because they're Bernie Bros, FAR FROM IT. They voted because their actual everyday lives were affected and Biden completely ignored their plight and none of his comms people could actually teach him to speak real talk about what they were going through with the price of eggs. Instead, social media media ridiculed them.... I was part of the EV transition, there were so many people just completely being ignored and they were right in the end about our lack of infrastructure being the demise. We need to stop fighting and be humble and have TWO EARS to listen and one mouth to speak.

Whatever infighting you think exists among the various factions on the right, the religious right, the tech right, the racist right, they all share a common vision that keeps them moving in the same direction. Nothing like this exists on the left. The purity of leftist politics is the reason the right wins.

While there are some burn-it-all-down types on the farther left, most of the debate is not whether to unite, but what to unite around. The fact that uniting and fixing the nation is necessary leads directly to that question. So factions are making their cases to be the future of the American left. And at such a volatile time, when there’s a power vacuum bc ppl are politically disillusioned and economically disenfranchised, populism thrives. When mainstream politics isn’t giving ppl hope, they turn to other places. The mainstream needs to learn the valuable comms and policy lessons from populists and reclaim that energy.

There is to much infighting and both sides have a point. The left has a problem with attacking anyone who doesn’t fit in a tiny box they put themselves in while I do agree we need to destroy this whole system because it’s never done any good. This election cycle should really be focused on rooting out corruption on both sides. We should be fighting corrupt politicians like Haley Steven’s who can possibly win the election if we can get everyone to vote for Abdul el sayed. We should not be fighting over who’s better. Focus on candidates who will actually do the work like AOC, Warren, Abdul, mandani, and so many more.

It was obvious about 3 years ago that it’s going to happen. 2016 was the catalyst on both sides of the political isle and I think we are all doomed for it. People will just use populism as a way to get power but not enough folks will see or care about that.

We pulled our shit together and elected a candidate nobody was excited about in the name of stability and moving forward and he promptly handed the country back to Trump.
