It was later discovered that the hijackers planned to detonate the aircraft over the Eiffel Tower. There were 224 passengers (4 being hijacker’s) and 12 crew. 3 passengers were 💀 by hijacker’s and all 4 hijacker’s were ended in the skirmish. Jean-Paul Borderie, the copilot (whom you see leap from the cockpit window), was the most seriously injured of the survivors, having fractured his elbow and thigh from the 5-metre (16 ft) drop. An episode in Season 2 of the air disaster documentary show “Mayday” covered this event.

This should have been the wake up call for the world that hijackers would use planes for a suicide mission. If we did, 9/11 would not have happened. It's sad that we don't take action until after people are killed.

I remember this aircraft sitting alone at Algiers airport. I had an aviation band receiver and I could listen to the terrorists talking to ATC. I lent it to the news agecy EFE.
