This is a bit personal. My grandma (who’s Argentinian) passed away the day Argentina played against Jordan, I got the news the moment Argentina scored their first goal during that match, and my world was turned upside down. The thing is, my grandma told me and my mom how her last dream was of her seating down, Messi suddenly came up to her, and smiled at her, then wrapped the Argentina flag around her leg, she had been struggling with that leg for years, it was a big pain for her, and in her dream, he cured her by wrapping the flag around her. Every time I see Messi now, I think of my grandma and that dream, she adored him and believed even if he got defeated or was so hated, he was still inspiring and strong. So grateful she got to witness him win in 2022, as well as watching Maradona win in 1986 and Mario Kempis in 1978, and even more grateful she got to see Messi killing it in the first two games of this World Cup. 💗
