My supervisors keep insisting I add more literature and it has to be recent, which I get. So I end up trying to extrapolate from similar studies but even then, my topic is extremely under explored. Even AI couldn’t track down more studies for me 😭 do you guys actually check that the literature actually is minimal? Because my God, I truly found a gap in literature

Another one is when authors use 1 paper as their main reference, now the whole paper is busy referencing one paper and you wonder if they are reproducing that study with new data or what and they say novel 😂? I sometimes think I’m reviewer no 2 😬.
