I was given a less than 5% chance of surviving. I was given so much fluid I gained over 20lbs in 3 days. Went to an urgent care where I encountered a brilliant angel who recognized it quickly. Vitals, blood draws, 4 ct scans, ultrasound and lumbar puncture in the first hour. I got transferred to the ICU. Pressors, 3 antibiotics, 2 surgical drains in my liver, and a picc line saved me. I have numerous autoimmune disorders and diabetes, along with 2 immunosuppressive meds. All this was late May this year. My only lasting effects are some cognitive issues and some POTS-like symptoms.
