I feel that Elena Kostyleva is wasting her potential in the Angels of Plushenko group. It’s not because I dislike Evgeni Plushenko, but because his training approach seems to focus more on preparing skaters to perform well in shows than on developing the discipline needed for top-level international competition. His shows are beautiful, and learning choreography for them is valuable, but it does not necessarily teach athletes how to handle the pressure of major international events or how to maintain consistent jumps under competitive conditions. If Elena wants to achieve the highest possible results, I think she would clearly benefit from moving to Eteri Tutberidze’s group. Tutberidze is known for having a very demanding and exhausting training method, but it also produces remarkable results. That’s simply her style: strict discipline, hard work, and high expectations. Many coaches today seem to lack that level of discipline, but in Tutberidze’s camp athletes are pushed to reach their maximum potential. Whatever people may think of her methods, the results she has achieved are undeniably impressive.
