@zach.bashir: Its disspoainting to hear how many right wing social media posts have been focused on portraying mosques as no go zones here in Japan. The police came to our mosque last week. A room full of foreigners being walked through the rules of the country they’d moved to. That’s the version of foreign communities putting the work in to integrate that nobody posts about. A step more than what the average foreigner gets when they move to Japan. Mosques are more than just a place to pray, they are community hubs. The practical bit, if you’re coming here: 🕌 Most prayer spaces in Hokkaido are unmarked rooms in ordinary buildings, not domes 🕌 Sapporo Masjid in Chuo-ku is the main one and the easiest to find 🚇 Bigger stations and shopping centres usually have a quiet room you can use — Salaam, if you’re new here, I’m Zach. even here in Malaysia before jumaah prayers, policemen come and give lectures about drug addiction awareness and also other things regarding laws before the khutbah
