@donrob.show: Lebanon is the Paris of the Middle East I hear this all the time, often spoken in the past tense as if Lebanon's prime as come & gone. I call bullshit. Since when did Paris have mountains or a coastline? Since when was Paris considered the birthplace of civilisation, or home to the birthplace of the alphabet? This isn't a hate towards Parisians, it's a frustration with the story so many people repeat about Lebanon. It's as if the only way that it can standout in this world is through the shadow of a well-known place. But I don't come back to Lebanon each year for croissants, snails, or rude people. I come back for Man'ouche, Shawarma, and Lebanese Hospitality. I've been to 46 different countries and have lived abroad for 9 years of my life. There is nothing that compares to this county & I will never stop coming here. Lebanon is Lebanon ------------ I almost ended this piece with Lebanon is the Lebanon of Lebanon but that sounded ridiculous 😂 It's so nice being back here in this beautiful country. Each time I return, I enjoy it even more. Thank you to everyone who is so incredibly hospitable and to my cousin, Mac, for first introducing me to this country years ago. And thank you to Stayinn for such a great place to be living whilst I'm here. That balcony I'm writing on is at one of their listings in Mar Mikhael.
