@thebestofsteph: Your iron can be "normal" on paper, but your **ferritin** (your body's iron storage) can still be too low. My providers ignored the signs for so long… Others thought I was just tired and making it up or putting excuses. In reality, low ferritin can affect so much more than your energy. I remember needing to take so many breaks from walking and would breathe so heavy and start shaking. I would not be able to drive to far places because of how Dizzy I would feel. The room was always spinning from morning to night time. When I would cook I would need a chair by my side because I would get so tired easily and would start shaking if I was standing too much.. Until I got a called 7 times in a Saturday to go directly to the ER to get 2 bags of blood transfusions and iron because my hemoglobin level was at 4 and my ferritin was at 7 … I FINALLY FELT HEARD, I FINALLY FELT A RELIEF that I wasn’t the crazy one for feeling so many things at once and being told I was doing too much… Here are some symptoms if you think you have your levels down ✨ Common symptoms may include: • Constant fatigue • Brain fog • Hair shedding • Shortness of breath • Dizziness • Headaches • Restless legs • Feeling cold all the time If you've been experiencing these symptoms, don't ignore them. Talk to your healthcare provider about checking your iron levels **and your ferritin** to get a clearer picture. I'm sharing my journey to help spread awareness because someone else might be feeling the same way and not know why. ❤️ Have you ever had your ferritin checked?
