As a peds therapist, YES. Stop feeding this cycle of kids small dopamine hits “watch me, watch me, look.” Connection seeking is normal and we can cognitively reframe our feedback to them. It’s exhausting.

My then 2 year old was very insistent on getting a hug when he wanted one. I started saying "no" and enforcing it by standing up if I needed too. He now (a few years later) asks for hugs and takes "no" with grace. I will not raise a man who doesn't understand consent.
