@ayg_pulsetv: 🚨 UPDATE: NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Chairman Wontumi has arrived at the Accra High Court, where the court is expected to decide today, Monday, July 20, whether to proceed with judgment in the alleged illegal mining case against him. The defence team, led by lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea, has filed an application seeking to halt the judgment, arguing that a constitutional interpretation related to the case is currently pending before the Supreme Court. The court was also informed that Atta Akyea is out of the country and is expected to return on Wednesday, July 22. The High Court will first rule on whether to grant the defence’s request for an adjournment or proceed with delivering its judgment. Chairman Wontumi, through his company Akonta Mining, faces charges over alleged illegal mining activities at Samreboi in the Western Region. He has denied all the allegations, and the case remains before the court.
