@antdaviscyber: Airbus just moved 900 critical apps off AWS and onto a French cloud provider. Big move. But the supply chain problem nobody's talking about makes it way more complicated than the press release suggests. via Rupert Goodwins / The Register #digitalsovereignty #cybersecurity #cloudcomputing #Airbus #techtok
There are European alternatives that can grow if Europe gets behind them.

well, you have to start somewhere, also compagnies start using Linux and open sources, just wait 5 to 10 years and sovereignty will be there or way much closer

I think with the power of servers these days the in “house server room” will make a come back. I use self hosted applications from home

The pebble that started the avalanche was Microsoft cancelling the email of ICC officials at the behest of the US government. That cut through.

European cloud providers are so far behind in feature parity, it’s going to take years and outages to get it anywhere near. And what is going to stop European providers doing vendor lock in? At the moment nothing.

I work for a big European bank and AWS and Azure have been required for a while to use only the EU region to store the data, but that was tied mostly to GDPR. Wish however that we will follow Airbus steps (and we get rid of Teams, btw)
