These 6 rules settle it so you and your partner stop leaving it for each other. The simplest one: whoever has their forehand in the centre plays it, because the forehand is the stronger, more controllable side. On top of that, the player moving forward should take it over the player moving back โ attacking the ball beats reaching for it late. And call it early: shout 'mine' before the bounce, not after, because a late call is exactly why you both freeze and watch it drop. After a wide ball, the cross-court player slides in to guard the middle while their partner resets. On a high one, the stronger overhead takes it โ one clean finish beats two half-swings. And straight after a lob, whoever didn't lift it covers the centre, because the lobber is still recovering position. Sort the middle out and a whole category of 'my bad / no, mine' points just disappears. Which of these six causes the most chaos in your pair? ๐
