@visegrad24: 🇺🇸 A mural honoring Iryna Zarutska, the 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee who was fatally stabbed by repeat offender Decarlos Brown Jr. aboard a Charlotte light rail train in August 2025, has been removed from a building in Chicago's North Center neighborhood and replaced with an abstract artwork by Chicago artist Rubén Aguirre. Zarutska's portrait was part of the nationwide "Remember Iryna" campaign, funded in part by Elon Musk and tech CEO Eoghan McCabe. The mural was repeatedly vandalized, including graffiti reading "Hang Musk" in January and multiple incidents of paint being thrown over the artwork in February and March.
