The kids steak has always been 5.5 ounces, I cooked at longhorn for 5 years. If you cook it all the way down to well done, it's most likely going to end up 4 ounces.

kids steak is 6 Oz to its used to be a 5 Oz then brought it to a 6 Oz and with the burgers they went from a 5oz burger to a 8oz burger the kids meals got burger coming from a former manager
