I’m so exhausted with feeling like I’m responsible for their emotions and disappointment. I’m tired of saying how I feel from their behaviours and having it skimmed over. I’m tired of being an emotional punch bag for my dad to talk to me how he wants to with no apologies. I’m so tired.

I cut off contact with my NM at 29 and i WISH i had done it sooner. My life is so peaceful without her in it. You have SUCH a a good way of explaining things and i feel like we’ve had such similar conversations with our mothers that i worry you’re in my head at times 🤣

I don’t mean this to sound weird at all, but do you have any good memories of growing up with the people that birthed you/raised you when spending time with them?

I left my mum at 17 went no contact, went back at age 19 out of vulnerability, age 21 realised why I left the first time and have left again and moved 100 miles away 🖤

I went no contact with my biological father when I was 29. And low contact with my Mum when I was 35-ish. After having a mental breakdown about why it I felt so guilty and it felt so wrong then coming to realise I was 100% in the right, My anxiety and depression have improved exponentially since.

Naturally family is the people you grow with, it’s ‘normal’ to you to kind of accept it and carry on, but we can see it eventually and cut ties, hugs mel I’m proud of you 🥰xx

Its liberating to have someone be able to put how I was feeling into words! I've always struggled to express these things but your videos hit the nail on the head! Absolutely adore you! 🥰

A sense of responsibility is so hard to shake off. And hope is the last thing to abandon us. And most girls wants their mum🤷♀️Easy peasy. I am so glad you're happy now❤️

At the time you believe they are the only ones who care. Only when you are out of it that you see it for what it is 👏👏👏👏💖💖

I'm 18 and I'm in a similar situation, I don't know what to do though. I can't move out for another year so it's impossible for me to cut contact.

Rebecca | Autism Mum & Life🩷 :
I’m low contact with my mum, simply because I’m tired of wanting the mum I wish I had, she doesn’t check in with me, ever since I had my daughter it’s been all about her, not that that’s a bad thing but my needs and the care for me seems to have disappeared. She lets my siblings speak to me like dirt (I don’t speak to them at all) and practically sides with them. I often wonder whether I’m the problem because I wanted peace
