@punkncoffee: On July 20, 1976, during their second performance at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in Manchester, England, the Sex Pistols played "Anarchy in the U.K." live for the first time. This second show, which also marked the live debut of Buzzcocks as the opening act, saw the Sex Pistols premiere the song that months later would become their first official single and the founding manifesto of the British punk movement. With lyrics written by vocalist John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) and music composed by bassist Glen Matlock and guitarist Steve Jones, "Anarchy in the U.K." delivered a confrontational and anti-establishment message.
