@drjoedamiani: 🔥 Think you've mastered the chin tuck? Like any exercise, though, you have to progress it if you want lasting results. ⚡ Each progression challenges your neck muscles a little more. ⚡ As stability improves, your neck becomes more resilient during everyday activities. ⚡ Better endurance means less compensation from the muscles that commonly contribute to neck pain and headaches. Progression shown: ✅ 1. Gravity eliminated Perform chin tucks lying on your back to learn the movement with minimal effort. ✅ 2. Upright holds Practice holding a chin tuck against a towel on the wall to build endurance. ✅ 3. Upright active Maintain the chin tuck without the wall, using your muscles alone. ✅ 4. Upright resisted Add a resistance band to further strengthen the deep neck flexors. ✅ 5. Upright resisted... while eating 🍎😂 A joke progression—but it reminds us that eventually your neck should maintain good control during everyday activities. ✅ 6. Prone active Perform chin tucks on hands and knees to increase the stability challenge. ✅ 7. Prone active (unstable) Use a yoga ball to make your neck work harder to maintain alignment. ✅ 8. Prone resisted (unstable) Combine the yoga ball with resistance for even greater motor control demands. ✅ 9. Prone resisted (very unstable 😅) Half ball + resistance band... definitely pushing it. ✅ 10. Prone resisted (very, very unstable 🤣) Yoga ball + resistance band. This one's a joke—don't try it at home! The goal here is to gradually improve your neck's strength and control so everyday activities become effortless. #NeckPain #ChinTucks #DeepNeckFlexors #PhysicalTherapy #NeckStrength
