I would have skimmed the walls with muddy to give it a smooth surface and cover up imperfections.

Don’t worry about the trim, pretty sure it will all have to be sandblasted and primed over before the room is usable. But at least the walls aren’t giving Girl Interrupted anymore!

If you’ll use Kilz shellac based, the other sharpie, paint etc won’t bleed through. It’s more pricey but latex will go over the top just fine.

I definitely would have skim coated the walls so they had a nice smooth finish then painted it all.
