@fixingpain: Working the subscapularis — the hidden rotator cuff muscle tucked behind the shoulder blade. I like to treat this one supine so I can flatten out the scapula and get my thumb right into the muscle belly. One thing to be careful of here: the axillary nerve runs right through this region, so stay mindful of it as you work. Elbow bent at 90, hand above the forehead, then they slowly extend the arm overhead. Since the subscap is an internal rotator, that overhead reach with a slight external rotation puts it on stretch while I work through the layers. This is part of the full shoulder series with Amanda — we go through the entire shoulder, layer by layer, at skool.com/fixingpainacademy. It's up and running now — come join us. #subscapularis #rotatorcuff #shoulderpain #massagetherapy #fixingpain
