I was lucky enough for my father to take rent from me in my 20's and put that money in a savings on my behalf. When I left he gave it all back to teach me this lesson. I appreciate him so much for that.

you're assuming that the parents dont need help with the rent/mortgage. as an adult if you are living home you should contribute to the rent/mortgage
