@sunnyinkyoto_32: Did you know there’s samurai history in Kyoto you can still see today!? 🤯🗡️🇯🇵 In Sanjo Bridge in Down Kyoto you can still see sword marks from a battle that happened in a long time ago! At the night of June 5, 1864, the Shinsengumi (supporters of the Tokugawa shogunate), attacked a group of Sonno Joi-ha (supported the emperor and wanted him to regain power) at the inn “Ikeda-ya”near a smaller brindle in Sanjo. The battle field was extended to the Sanjo-ohashi Bridge. And the marks of the swords are still can be seen on the ornamental cap of the bridge. 😌☝️ Did you know this little cool detail about Kyoto?
