They say it’s for the reason that they can’t play against whatever teams because it’ll clash but the reality is fifa didn’t want Argentina playing Spain in the semifinals because that would’ve meant in the actual finals it would’ve been France or England against Spain or Argentina. They wanted both of them in the final- and Argentina were playing for penalties to win- hence why they made no attempts on goal.
