It’s more the fact that they aren’t following their own rules with that. The only time a character should be gender locked is when it’s historically accurate like valk. Otherwise players should be able to choose what gender they want their character to be. Pirate and Varangian being locked at female makes no sense.

For Honor has stated multiple times that they cannot support gender swapped heroes anymore. Although I wish that weren’t true, we aren’t ever getting a hero with both genders ever again
