Unfortunately, this won’t get it done. Screaming at the gallows steps ain’t it. Take that 75 and hit 30-40 doors each. In less than a month, you teach every single person in those districts. Vote the top out. Demand accountability. Unfortunately, this is systematic. Either it’s arresting people and keeping them trapped in the system, controlling them, or those who can’t escape it end up paying the ultimate price. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Accountability will never prevail if we don’t hold those in positions of power accountable. But accountability works both ways. It starts at home, in our schools, in our streets, with officers, the mayor, and all the way to the governor. Change means change. Police need better training. Longer training. We need to phase out outdated methods and replace them with better approaches. But we also need to teach our children the difference between right and wrong and give them the tools to succeed. Our system is broken on both ends. We are all a part of this system, whether we like it or not. The question is, who is willing to step up and start the change? Because if change doesn’t happen, the consequences will continue to fall on the same people over and over again. 🥺🙏🏽
