I completely agree that clarifying our needs in relationships is important, but is it normal that in a romantic relationship I always have to explain my needs and they get overlooked? When I have to ask, it loses meaning and becomes draining. I shouldn’t have to keep saying it , any self-aware person should understand without constant reminders.

I spent years repeating the same patterns without realizing it, and the hardest part is that I thought they were just part of who I was. After reading The Timeless Principles of Life by Aaron Friedman, I finally understood why I kept holding myself back.

Absolutely, love is consideration on every level and capacity. Who are we to place expectations on someone else's capacity to love. As long as they can give %100 on whatever they can give.

I always give so much effort into people because I want them to feel loved and know that I’m here but I never get that same energy back

So real, and I feel like it’s unfair to put that expectation on someone, putting them in a position where their consideration takes beyond their capacity. Rather end this or wait until they can but it’s not their fault they dont have that capacity rn, yknow? Especially when someone is working towards something

Walking away from the version of myself that kept settling wasn’t easy, but after reading The Timeless Principles of Life by Aaron Friedman, I finally understood that real growth begins when you stop living on autopilot.

If anyone could help me pls reply - i have been with my bf since october 2024 n ot has been ldr we meet on april 2025 he came to visit me from another country as we live un different countries he stayed with me for 3 weeks we had a great time. Then in april 2026 we both went to our home country n meet each others parents so we decided to get married but it was tough to make our parents agree took a little time because of some upbring n other issues. I know he loves me a lot but we have a bit of different upbring styles even though we both r muslim n from the same country but he was born in an arab country n i was born in my own home country. So the issue is that i feel i think he is very uncertain about his future like i want us to move to an europe country after we get married which would actually take time and at least one of us to go there first n then take the other person but he really dosent wanna go alone or be alone n he sometimes dosent even want to go as he is scared of the future what will happen so when we talk about it or when i talk about it he tries to avoid it but at the same time my family wants him to have a secure income as hr would marry me. Tbh we do have differences finanacially and ik very well that he cant give me things or keep me like my dad did which i conpletely understand n accept it but tbh i used to think or maybr its like that idk but i think men love to provide for their family n partner as along as they have enuf. So like if thr person can afford it he will provide that much for his wife. But i have seen this thing in him that is he is not generous like he dosent like giving gifts or spending money on me. Like if i ever ask anything from him he thinks either its a waste of money or he tells me u should buy it own yr own. According to islam ik husbands only have to provide the basic needs not yr luxuries but not everyone is generous enuf to willing spend on theit partner. He dos spend on himswld but when i want the same thing it becomes a waste or soemthint. He tells me to buy with my own money which is ok but i feel like if u can afford that bit thrn why wont u do that n y does my wants feel like a waste to u so i m scared
