@intentionallydoyin: My kids started reading at age 2. Here's exactly what I did 🤍 This one is for all the moms, dads and parents-to-be. Sharing the practical things I did to nurture a love for books and help my children learn to read early. Save this for later and share it with a parent who'd find it helpful. #ParentingTips #EarlyLearning #LearnToRead #Reading #fyp

I have a question Doyin, at what age did you start with the letter sounds? And you mentioned repetition, I was wondering if you did one letter sound till they got it before you went on with the next letter sound. Thanks for the tips

it's possible...my 15 year old daughter started reading after 2...before she clocked 3. I was intentional teaching her 3 year old brother alphabet sound...just like you did...while I was still carrying her in my arm...one day I caught her opening her mouth wide and consciously shaping it to produce SAT...I hid by the door...and monitored her. I was shocked that the little baby was absorbing the sounds while my focus was not on her but the brother. so I stopped carrying her but sit her next to the brother....she was so excited and she begsn to read same book like his brother by 2 plus and by 3 she could prounce 6 to 8 lettered world comfortable and read notes kept for nursery teachers...they were shocked. this has really fueled her love for reading and has increase her critical and analytical thinking as a teenager. I am sharing this to inspire young patents. all the best

Great job! As a preschool and grade school teacher, I was fully convinced you were an educator when you opened by sharing how you got your children to read at age 2! I was so amazed at the end when you said you’re not. You hit the nail on the head! 👏
Starting with single-letter sounds, revisiting vowels for 2-letter blending (at, is), moving up to CVC words, and then bringing in sight/tricky words is the exact blueprint for early reading. Whenever parents ask me about a child turning 3 who only knows the ABC song, I always advise shifting to letter sounds first; it builds such a solid foundation.
I use this exact method with my students locally and internationally, and seeing them blend and read fluently at an early age is the best feeling. Kudos to you for sharing this; you’re inspiring so many parents! 🌟✨❤️
