My step dad was in the Seabees during Vietnam & later was in Honduras & the Panama Canal then the retired from the navy & joined the army right before Dessert Storm/Sheild. He was a welder by trade so I believe that was what he did in the Seabees but I’m not certain. He was only in the army reserves by the time he married my mom in ‘93 when I was 11. He was 12 yrs older than my mom & a total AH, though, so thankfully she divorced him after 14 yrs.

I had 3 brothers in the Navy. 2 were affiliated with airplanes and 1 had to go on a ship after he was in the Navy after he was in for 10 yrs. The third brother was only on ship. I think your history story for the sea bees is pretty cool.
