My hot take with her is that she was never good, she just happened to be competent and OK at a time where being that in the WWE’s women division was seen as great. Just like AJ Lee. Her “this is my house!!!” Promo in AEW you could tell it wasn’t gonna work and she did 0 research going in.

The question that needs to be asked is, was Paige ever really that good or were wrestling fans so desperate to move on from the divas era. To have women's wrestlers be portrayed in a positive light that they accepted the first woman who showed a bit of in ring ability. Paige was a solid wrestler. But compared to who was barely getting started in developmental, i.e. The 4 Horsewomen. Every single one of them clears Paige by a wide margin. Put Paige with Trish, Lita. Mickie, Jazz, Molly, etc and she fits in. In the Divas era, she's Kurt Angle in terms of in-ring ability. But she's mid in the modern era. Being born into the business does not equate greatness. Ask Joe Hennig or Ted DiBiase Jr.
